The goal of Men's Ministry at Cedar Crest is to encourage and equip men to become fully devoted followers of Jesus. Consistent with our church mission themes of Abiding, Engaging and Investing, men are provided opportunities for spiritual growth, encouraged to make use of their particular natural skills and gifts to impact those they come in contact with, and given opportunities for recreational and fellowship activities that are exciting and also offer Christian value formation. Below are some of the ways the goals are accomplished through the Men’s Ministry:
Men's Breakfast—5th Sunday gatherings at 7:15 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall with food and inspiration. The themes and speakers for the breakfast will be developed and announced on a quarterly basis.
Disaster Relief Ministry–Men in the Disaster Relief Ministry are trained and organized as part of the Louisiana Baptist Convention disaster response team. In the last few years we have responded to floods, tornadoes, and hurricanes by providing both chainsaw and mudout responses.
Annual Conference—Men have participated in the Gridiron Men’s Conference in Birmingham, AL for the last few years.
Evangelistic Events–Each year the Men’s Ministry hosts a large event such as a fish fry or a wild game dinner. Men are encouraged to invite their friends that have not made a profession of faith to Christ. In 2018, we are planning a wild game dinner in the early fall.
Bible Studies–We currently have an on-going group that meets on Tuesday mornings at 6:20 a.m. and a group that meets on Wednesday nights at 6:30 p.m. Additionally, we have two monthly groups that are meeting.
